Trần Duy Long, Trợ lý dự án cứu trợ khẩn cấp và phục hồi sau lũ tại Hà Tĩnh của tổ chức Oxfam

Có lẽ chưa bao giờ chị Nguyễn Thị Bình lại thấy trong nhà mình có nhiều lạc như vậy. Năm nay nhà chị thu hoạch được 3 tạ lạc, cao gấp ba lần năng suất những năm trước.

Chị Bình, 43 tuổi, sống với cậu con trai 5 tuổi và người mẹ 81 tuổi ở thôn Liên Hòa, xã Đức Liên của tỉnh Hà Tĩnh. Ngôi nhà gỗ họ đang ở được làm từ ngân sách dự án hỗ trợ người nghèo xây nhà của chính phủ và tiền vay ngân hàng. Con trai đầu của chị 17 tuổi đang đi làm trong Sài Gòn nhưng cũng chỉ đủ nuôi bản thân mình. Chồng chị đã bỏ ba mẹ con từ khi cậu con thứ hai mới sinh.

Farmer Nguyen Thi Binh, 43, has never seen such amount of peanuts in her house in Lien Hoa village, Duc Lien commune of Ha Tinh Province. Binh lives there with her two sons and her 81-year-old mother since husband left her after their second son was born. They just harvested 300kg of peanuts; nearly triple the usual annual amount.

CL!CK ABOUT IT is a series of international photography competitions that are organised by the European Journalism Centre and have been running since 2010. The third edition of CL!CK is co-organised with Oxfam and sponsored by the European Commission.

The competition focuses on the topic of Aid. In this competition we want you to capture moments that show how people’s lives and communities are being transformed. Whether in Berlin or Bogota, tackling poverty, health, education, gender, environment and agricultural issues matter. This is what aid is all about. We want your creativity, so don’t limit yourself to these areas only, branch out and be creative!

Oxfam’s Ian Bray reports from the Bicester warehouse (UK) where 70 tonnes of essential aid are being dispatched to Ethiopia as part of our emergency response to the food crisis in East Africa. The shipment includes clean water equipment, sanitation and emergency shelter to support 60,000 people.

Oxfam offers internship programme for young Vietnamese graduates who are passionate about Oxfam’s mission of working with others to overcome poverty, suffering and injustice. Selected interns will provide administrative support to the team, gain essential office skills, and take part in project activities as well as a number of training opportunities. They will gain invaluable working experience that benefits their future employment. Internship contracts last for maximum of one year.

We are currently seeking one Vietnamese national to fill the internship for Oxfam Great Britain (OGB) Livelihood Programme based in Hanoi Office with occasional travel to project areas. Allowance: Based on OGB’s intern policies – USD 100 for the first two months of probation, andUSD 140 from 3rd month; when travel to project site is required intern will receive the same travel allowance as full-time staff.

Oxfam is currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join the team as Programe Officer – Farmer-Led Agricultural Innovation for Resilience (FLAIR)

The Program Officer (PO) is an integral member of the Oxfam America East Asia Regional Office (EARO) overseeing a portfolio of projects for EARO’s Farmer-Led Agriculture Innovation for Resilience (FLAIR) program.  The PO is charged with the development and delivery of the Vietnam portfolio, which includes program strategizing, implementation, grant management, partnership development, M & E and project management. This position is based in Hanoi with frequent travel to the field.
